About this scholarship
Grants for students of the University of Valladolid
For the credits for which you enrol in the 2025-2026 academic year, you will receive a grant of one-off payment of up to 1,000 EUR towards your first-semester tuition fees. The University of Valladolid will pay this amount as a one-off payment by bank transfer once the decision has been published. Under no circumstances may the payment exceed the amount you actually paid for your initial enrolment. This is intended to support students who have been refused a state grant; instead, the university covers part of their fees.
Who can apply
- University: You are enrolled on a Bachelor’s degree programme (Grado) at one of the University of Valladolid’s campuses for the period from 2025 to 2026.
- No state scholarship: You applied for the scholarship offered by the Spanish Ministry of Education and the Basque Country, and both rejected your application.
- Grades: In semesters 2024 to 2025, you have passed a specified proportion of the credit points you have taken, depending on your degree programme: 80% in the humanities, social sciences and law; 70% in health sciences; and 55% in engineering, architecture and the natural sciences. First-year students, on the other hand, must achieve a mark of at least 5 in the university entrance examination (PAU).
- Income: Your household income falls within the limits set out in the call for applications.
- Nationality: You are a Spanish national or an EU citizen, or a student from a non-EU country who can provide proof of your residence status.
- Field of study: Any topic is allowed.
How to apply
You can apply online via the university’s SIGMA platform under ‘Becas Propias’ by selecting ‘Solicitud Ayudas Vicerrectorado de Estudiantes’. The application deadline is 27 March 2026. The scholarships are awarded through a selection process, with priority given to applicants with the lowest income per household member.
How realistic are your chances?
This scholarship is very restrictive. You must be studying in Valladolid, have had an application for a government scholarship rejected, and meet the academic and income requirements, which means that the pool of eligible applicants is small. If you clearly meet these conditions and have a low household income, your chances are good, as applicants are selected on the basis of financial need. Just make sure you apply before the deadline.
