About this scholarship

What the UCAM Overseas Programme gives you

You will receive 300 EUR per month for up to 6 months to complete part of your degree at a partner university in Asia, Africa or North America (the USA and Canada). The host university will waive its own tuition fees, which usually amount to around 30,000 USD, whilst you remain enrolled at UCAM. There are 20 such monthly grants available. If your host university has an Erasmus agreement and you have not yet used up your 12-month Erasmus limit, you may instead be eligible for one of 4 Erasmus+ grants worth 700 EUR per month for up to 4.5 months. The programme is run by the Office for International Relations at the Catholic University of San Antonio in Murcia, Spain (UCAM).

Who can apply

  • Where you study: You must be enrolled on a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD programme at UCAM, both at the time of your application and for the entire duration of the exchange.
  • Study progress: You have earned at least 60 ECTS credits. Business administration students must have passed all first-year modules.
  • Field of study: Open to all degree programmes. The objectives you can choose depend on your degree programme.
  • Language: For study programmes taught in English, French or German, you will need a B2 certificate in the relevant language or you can sit UCAM’s free B2 test. For study programmes taught in Spanish, B1 is sufficient.
  • Nationality: Open to all nationalities. To be eligible for the Erasmus+ grant, you must either be an EU national or hold a Spanish foreigner’s identification number (NIE).

How to apply

Applications are made online via UCAM’s Laurea portal. Please upload a copy of your identity card or NIE, as well as any language certificates you may have. There are two application deadlines, ending on 11 January and 17 September. The scholarships are awarded to students with the best academic performance, based on the number of ECTS credits you have earned and your grade point average.

How realistic are your chances?

Only UCAM students may apply; there are 20 monthly scholarships and 4 Erasmus+ scholarships available. Selection is restricted to enrolled students who meet the requirements regarding credit points and language proficiency. Selection is based on grades and the number of credit points earned, so a strong academic record is crucial. If you have already earned 60 ECTS credits, have reached the required language level and apply early, your chances are good.
