About this scholarship
UDC-Banco Santander Master Scholarships
You will receive a one-off 1,000 EUR (gross) for one academic year to cover the costs of your Master’s degree at the University of A Coruña (UDC). The funding comes from a joint programme run by the UDC and Banco Santander. For 2026/27, the two partners are awarding a total of 200 scholarships, of which 60 are for Master’s students.
Who can apply
- Where you study: You are enrolled on an official Master’s programme at the University of La Coruña for the current academic year.
- Enrolment: You are enrolled on a full-time degree programme with a minimum of 60 credit points. Credit points that have been recognised, validated, adjusted or transferred by another institution do not count towards this minimum.
- Fees: You have paid your public tuition fees up to the present date.
- Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply. If you are a student from a non-EU country, you must provide proof of your legal residence in Spain by means of your NIE residence card. A passport alone is not sufficient.
- Field of study: All subjects are open.
- Grades: The ranking is based on the average mark (on a scale of 10) for the qualification that enabled you to gain entry to the Master’s programme. A bonus multiplier applies to certain subject areas: ×1.17 for engineering and architecture, ×1.11 for natural sciences and ×1.05 for health sciences.
How to apply
You will need to register twice, in the following order: first on the Banco Santander platform (Santander Open Academy), then via the UDC online form using your UDC email address. The Santander registration deadline for 2026/27 is 23:59 on 7 October 2026. The UDC form remains open until 23:59 on 8 October 2026. Selection is based solely on the grade point average in the ranking list, without an interview or panel assessment.
How realistic are your chances?
With 60 places on the Master’s programme and a ranking based solely on grades, your chances depend on your final grade and the subject bonus – not on a panel’s assessment. If you are studying full-time at UDC and have a good grade point average, particularly in the fields of engineering, natural sciences or health sciences – where the subject-specific bonus is advantageous – you have a genuine chance of success. Make sure you apply on both platforms well before the October deadline, as the two-stage process does not allow for a late second application.
