About this scholarship

What the International Mobility Programme gives you

You will spend a semester or a full academic year at a partner university abroad. All credits earned there will be fully recognised towards your degree in your home country. The Public University of Navarre (UPNA) in Pamplona, Spain, offers this programme to its own undergraduate and postgraduate students. Depending on which degree programme you choose, you can study within Europe (Erasmus+), in Latin America (Palafox), Asia (Martín de Rada) or in the rest of the world under bilateral agreements and the ISEP exchange network. You can choose from more than 300 destinations.

The amount of money you receive depends on your degree programme and the funds available each year; therefore, there is no fixed monthly grant. The UPNA distributes the funds from the EU, the Regional Government of Navarre and the partner banks amongst the selected students. If you opt for the ‘Formación Solidaria’ programme (an internship or a dissertation in the field of development cooperation lasting between 3 and 6 months), you can receive up to 1,200 EUR towards travel expenses and up to 300 EUR per month towards living costs. The UPNA also covers the costs of accident, disability and repatriation insurance during your stay abroad.

Who can apply

  • Where you study: You are enrolled on an official Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programme at the Public University of Navarra. As a general rule, you are expected to study full-time; however, part-time study is permitted in some cases.
  • Field of study: Open to all subjects.
  • Nationality: Open to all nationalities.
  • Grades: The weighted average of the exams you have passed plays a decisive role in determining who is offered a place at university; therefore, achieving good results is of the utmost importance.
  • Credits passed: By 31 July, you must have earned a specified proportion of the previous year’s ECTS credits, which ranges from 60% to 90% depending on the faculty.
  • Language: You meet the minimum language proficiency requirements for your chosen destination country and can provide evidence of this in the form of a certificate or recognised academic qualifications.
  • Previous exchanges: You have previously taken part in no more than one exchange under the same programme.
  • Disability quota: 5% places are reserved for applicants with a recognised disability of 33% or more.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted online via the UPNA’s SIGMA platform. Please list your preferred destinations in order of preference and upload proof of your language proficiency. The application deadline is 07.03. The selection process takes place in several stages, after which the final places will be allocated.

How realistic are your chances?

As only students from UPNA can apply, the pool is already limited to a single university, and places are awarded solely on the basis of academic grades and the number of credit points earned. If your grade average is solid, you have achieved the minimum number of credit points required by your department and possess the necessary language skills, your chances are good. With over 300 destinations across many degree programmes, popular universities fill up quickly; so set your sights high, but also list realistic alternative options.
