About this scholarship

Benefit

At the University of Vic (UVic-UCC) in Catalonia, Spain, you’ll receive a discount of discount on your tuition fees for one academic year. The amount of the discount depends on your degree programme and the number of credits you enrol for, up to a maximum of 60 ECTS credits. For most degree programmes, it amounts to approximately 15% to 19.5% of the tuition fees, which, for a full enrolment of 60 credits, corresponds to roughly 990 to 1,025 EUR. Students studying medicine and dentistry can receive around 2,025 EUR. The grant is deducted directly from your tuition fee invoice, so you will not receive any cash. The University and the Generalitat de Catalunya (the Regional Government of Catalonia) fund the programme with a total budget of 1,000,000 EUR. You can reapply for the grant every year that you are enrolled.

Eligibility

  • Degree level: You are enrolled on an official Bachelor’s degree programme (grey) at UVic-UCC on the Vic, Medicine or Manresa campuses.
  • Field of study: Any subject is permitted; however, joint inter-university degree programmes are not permitted.
  • Nationality: You are a Spanish national or a national of an EU Member State. You, or the person supporting you, have been working and paying tax in Spain for at least 2024.
  • Residence: You were registered at your home address for at least 6 months in the year 2024.
  • Income: Households at all income levels are eligible to apply; there is no upper limit. A lower per capita household income results in a higher ranking.
  • Grades (from your second year on): You have passed at least 50% of the credit points you earned last year.

How to apply

Applications are made online via the ‘UVic-UCC Campus Virtual’ portal, where you will upload your documents as PDF files. The application period runs from the end of January to 27 February. A provisional decision will be made in mid-April. Applicants are assessed using a points-based system that takes into account financial need and difficult personal circumstances.

How realistic are your chances?

This scholarship is aimed exclusively at students who are already enrolled at this particular university; the pool of applicants is therefore limited and not nationwide. Applications that are a good fit and are clearly documented will be rated more highly. With a budget of 1,000,000 EUR to be shared amongst many students, your chances are good if you meet the eligibility criteria and submit a complete application, supported by evidence, by the deadline.
