UVIC-UCC Talent Scholarships

You get a cut in your tuition fees of up to 2,000 EUR per year, applied directly as a discount when you enrol. The size of the discount depends on your degree: 38.5% off for Early Childhood Education or Primary Education, and 34.5% off for the double degree in Sports Science and Primary Education. You can renew the scholarship each year for the full length of your Bachelor's degree, up to 4 years, as long as you keep meeting the conditions. It is run by the University of Vic (UVic-UCC) in Catalonia to attract future teachers who also need financial help. Note that administrative fees and student insurance are not covered and stay your responsibility.

Who can apply

• Degree: You are enrolled on the Vic Campus of UVic-UCC on one of the following degree programmes: Early Years Education, Primary Education, or the combined degree programme in Sports Science and Primary Education.
• Nationality: You are from Spain or another EU country. If you are not an EU citizen, you or the people who support you financially must work in Spain or pay tax there.
• No prior degree: You do not yet hold a higher education qualification at the same level or a higher level than that for which you are applying.
• Grades (new students): Your university entrance mark must be at least 7 if you are entering via the Batxillerat (Catalan upper secondary education), at least 8 via the Higher Vocational Training (CFGS) programme, or at least 7 via other educational pathways.
• Credits: You are taking at least 36 credit points this year.
• Financial need: Your family’s net income must remain below a specified threshold, which increases depending on the size of the family; for example, it is around 41,600 euros for a four-person household. There are also limits on property ownership and savings.
• Renewal students: To retain the scholarship, you must have received it previously and, in the past year, have passed 100% of your credits with a grade point average of at least 7.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted online via the UVic-UCC Campus Virtual under the ‘Tràmits’ section. The application deadline is 14 July. The committee may request further documents from you or invite you to an interview.

How realistic are your chances?

This grant is very narrowly defined: only students on three specific teacher-training degree programmes at one campus are eligible to apply, and you must combine a good entry grade with genuine financial need. This keeps the number of eligible applicants small. If you clearly meet these conditions and can provide proof of your income, your chances are good. In recent years, places have primarily been awarded to students who have already received the scholarship; it is therefore important to apply as early as possible in your degree programme.
