University of Murcia/Santander Universities - Exchange Program with Latin America for undergraduate students

Benefit

You will spend a semester at a partner university in Latin America and will not pay any tuition fees there. You will continue to pay only your usual fees to the University of Murcia, and the courses you pass whilst abroad will count towards your degree. In addition, the University of Murcia awards 55 scholarships of 2,000 EUR each to students with the best grades, meaning that a limited number of participants also receive financial support. For 2026/27, there are over 350 places available across all faculties and degree programmes.

Eligibility

• University: You are studying on a state-recognised Bachelor’s degree programme at the University of Murcia.
• Study progress: You have already completed at least 60 ECTS, which is roughly equivalent to the second year of study.
• Field of study: All students are eligible to apply, but only for places within their own degree programme.
• Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply, provided they are studying at the University of Murcia.
• No prior award: You have not yet received any funding under the ILA programme or the Santander-CRUE programme.
• Grades: The 2,000-EUR scholarships are awarded to students with the best marks, so good marks determine who receives the money.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted online via the ILA platform by 28 February. Information sessions will be held online and in person before the application deadline. Applicants will be ranked according to their grades, and this ranking will also determine who receives the scholarships worth 2,000 EUR.

How realistic are your chances?

A place at the university itself is well within reach. There are over 350 places across all degree programmes, and you’ll only be competing against other students on your own course. When it comes to the cash scholarships worth 2,000 euros, the competition is much tougher: only 55 are awarded, and these go exclusively to the very best students. Good grades are therefore essential if you want not only to take part in the exchange but also to receive the money.
