What the International Mobility Programme gives you

You will receive one-off grant of up to 4,875 EUR and will not have to pay any tuition fees at your host university abroad. The amount depends on where you are going and how long you are staying. For a full academic year, the amount is 4,875 EUR for Asia or Australia, 3,750 EUR for the USA or Canada, and 2,625 EUR for Latin America. For a single semester, the grants amount to 3,750, 2,625 and 1,875 EUR. The stay lasts from 3 months up to a full academic year. The University of Valencia (UV) in Spain organises and funds the programme, enabling you to spend part of your studies at a partner university outside Europe: in North or Latin America, Asia or Australia.

The scholarship does not cover travel, accommodation or living costs, nor does it cover health insurance, and you must continue to pay your regular tuition fees to the UV.

Who can apply

• Where you study: You are enrolled on an official Bachelor’s degree programme at the University of Valencia and will remain enrolled there throughout your stay abroad.
• Field of study: Most degree programmes are eligible. Students studying medicine and dentistry are not eligible to apply, and students studying economics cannot choose destinations in Latin America.
• Progress so far: By the end of the academic year 2024–2025, you will have earned at least 42 ECTS credits.
• Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply, provided they are studying at the UV.
• No other grant: You have not yet received this UV mobility grant. Furthermore, you are not receiving any other grant for studying abroad in the same year (such as an Erasmus placement or SICUE).
• Language proof: You must provide the language certificate required by your chosen university, for example TOEFL or IELTS for English-speaking study destinations.

How to apply

Applications are made online via the UV student portal between 3 and 21 November. You should list up to five preferred universities in order of preference. Selection is based primarily on how your grade point average compares to the average of all students on your degree programme. Places will be allocated until the budget has been exhausted.

How realistic are your chances?

As only Bachelor’s students at the UV are eligible to apply, the pool of applicants is limited to one university, and a fixed number of places are funded from the total budget of 320,000 EUR. Selection is on a competitive basis and depends on your grades: the decisive factor is your ranking compared to your fellow students on the same degree programme. If your grade point average is above the average for your degree programme and you are not receiving any other funding for studying abroad, your chances are good.
