About this scholarship

Alta Scuola Politecnica (ASP) scholarship

For the two years of your Master’s programme at the Polytechnic University of Milan or Turin, you will receive a full waiver of tuition fees. You will continue to pay a small regional and administrative fee; in Turin, for example, this is approximately 161 EUR for 2026/27. The programme also covers your accommodation, meals and travel costs during the on-campus sessions. These are multi-day courses that take place in spring, winter and – in Turin – in autumn. You will also receive funding to carry out an interdisciplinary team project. The ‘Alta Scuola Politecnica’ is a joint dual degree programme offered by the two universities in parallel with your regular Master’s programme. It awards you 30 additional credits on top of the 120 credits from your degree programme, and all teaching is conducted in English. Each year, up to 150 students are admitted: 90 in Milan and 60 in Turin.

Who can apply

  • Degree: You are enrolling for the first semester of the academic year 2026/27 on a Master’s degree programme (Laurea Magistrale) in engineering, architecture, urban planning or design in Milan or Turin.
  • Prior study: You hold a bachelor’s degree or have completed at least three years of higher education. Your master’s degree programme must not have been shortened through the transfer of credit points.
  • Grades: If you hold an Italian bachelor’s degree, you must have a weighted average mark of at least 27.00/30, achieved within the standard duration of study of three years. If you hold a foreign degree, your academic record will be assessed instead. In Turin, you will also need a valid GRE test result.
  • English: Your level of English is at least level B2.
  • Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply: Italians, EU citizens and non-EU citizens.
  • Excluded: Students on the Erasmus Mundus (EMJM) and EIT-KIC programmes cannot take part in Turin.

How to apply

You apply online to the university where you wish to enrol: via ‘PoliMi Online Services’ for Milan or via the ‘Apply@PoliTo’ platform for Turin. The application deadline is 30. September for Milan and on 15 October for Turin. You will need to provide a personal statement in English. Shortlisted applicants will be placed on a ranking list and subsequently invited to an interview in English in November or December.

How realistic are your chances?

The selection process is restricted to high-calibre Master’s applicants from the fields of engineering, architecture and design at just two universities, and the grade requirement of 27/30 alone rules out many candidates. With 150 places available each year, the pool of applicants is certainly there, but it’s not huge. If your grades significantly exceed the minimum requirements, your English skills are solid and you demonstrate genuine motivation in the interview, your chances are good.
