About this scholarship
The Honourable Daphne Guinness Scholarship
You get about EUR 23,000 in total (£20,000) over two years of study: roughly EUR 13,800 (£12,000) in the first year and about EUR 9,200 (£8,000) in the second. The money goes towards your tuition and living costs. It is paid in instalments each term. One student receives it per year. It is a personal award from fashion figure Daphne Guinness, who set it up at Central Saint Martins to help fashion students who need financial support.
Who can apply
- Course: You have a place on the first year of the full-time MA Fashion course at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London, starting October 2026.
- Level: This is a master's (postgraduate) degree.
- Nationality: Any nationality can apply, both UK and international students.
- Financial need: Your household earns EUR 115,000 (£100,000) a year or less, and you can show you are in financial hardship.
- Academic merit: You have strong academic results and creative work to show.
How to apply
You apply online through the UAL Student Portal by 11 PM UK time on Sunday 6 September 2026. You upload proof of your household income and a portfolio. The funding team first ranks applicants by financial need. A panel then shortlists on academic and creative quality. If you are shortlisted, you are invited to an interview where you can show your latest work.
How realistic are your chances?
Only one student wins this each year, and you must already hold a place on this one specific master's course. So the eligible group is small, but the single award makes it competitive. If you clearly meet the income limit, can document real financial hardship and bring a strong portfolio, you have a genuine shot. A convincing case for how the money would support your studies is what tips the decision.
