Helena Vuorenmies Foundation research grant

You will receive a one-off grant of 2,000 EUR for a research project. This is a one-off payment and not a monthly grant (a regular monthly payment). The grant is intended to support research into metabolism and the regulation of organ functions – in other words, the way in which the body processes energy and controls the functioning of its organs. The Helena Vuorenmies Foundation awards the grant once a year. The Foundation is one of the sponsors of the Kuopio Campus of the University of Eastern Finland (UEF).

Who can apply

• Who you are: You are a young researcher – for example, a PhD student or a postdoctoral researcher – working on a thesis or a research project.
• Where you come from: You are originally from the Savo region in Finland.
• Research field: Your research is in metabolism and the regulation of organ functions.
• University link: You are affiliated with the University of Eastern Finland, Kuopio Campus.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted via the Foundation’s online form (Webropol). The application window opens on 1 September and closes on 25 September. You must submit a single PDF file containing your research proposal (3 to 4 pages), a CV including your list of publications, and a letter from your supervisor. Decisions will be made in November and December, and successful applicants will be notified personally. Applications sent by email or in paper form will not be accepted.
