Travel Grants of the Philosophical Faculty (FILOTO), University of Eastern Finland

You get up to 1450 EUR towards the cost of travelling to an academic conference or seminar in Finland or abroad. The grant comes from the doctoral programme (FILOTO) of the Philosophical Faculty at the University of Eastern Finland (UEF). The programme covers subjects such as languages, literature, translation, psychology, education and teacher training.

Who can apply

• Level: You are a doctoral student in the Philosophical Faculty's doctoral programme at UEF.
• Enrolment: You are signed up as an attending (present) student for the current term.
• No UEF salary: You do not draw a salary from the University of Eastern Finland.
• Field of study: Your subject is taught in the faculty, from humanities and languages to psychology and education.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
• Purpose: The trip is for a scientific conference or seminar.

How to apply

Fill in the online grant form linked on the UEF student handbook page. The 2026 application window closes on 30 November 2026. Submissions are reviewed once a month, apart from the summer break.
