Vilkevuo Fund - Scholarship

Vilkevuo Fund grant (University of Oulu)

You will receive a one-off grant to support your research at University of Oulu in Finland. The fund does not specify a fixed amount, but in 2026 the foundation’s grants amounted to 2,000 to 5,000 EUR per person, paid as a one-off lump sum. The money comes from the Vilkevuo Fund, one of 25 donor funds managed by the University of Oulu Scholarship Foundation (Oulun yliopiston tukisaatio). Together, these funds disburse between 150,000 and 250,000 euros annually, mainly for doctoral research.

Who can apply

• Field of study: You’re studying pharmacy. Medical students can also apply, but will only receive funding if there is any left over.
• University: You carry out your research at the University of Oulu.
• Study level: You are studying for a PhD. The fund primarily supports PhD research projects.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
• Job rule: You must not be on the university’s payroll during the term of the scholarship.

How to apply

You must apply via the Foundation’s online funding system by the deadline of 1 February. Please complete the funding application form and attach a brief description of your work and a CV. You will also need a letter from your supervisor. The Foundation’s Board will then decide who receives the funding.
