Fund of P.P. Halonen (University of Oulu Scholarship Foundation)

You get a one-off grant to support your construction engineering or architecture studies at the University of Oulu. The fund does not publish a fixed figure, but in the 2026 round individual grants ran from 2,000 to 5,000 EUR, paid as a single lump sum. The money comes from the University of Oulu Scholarship Foundation (Oulun yliopiston tukisäätiö), set up in 1960, which runs 25 separate donor funds. This one backs students working on the economy of construction, meaning the cost and financial side of building projects.

• Field of study: You study construction engineering or architecture. The fund also supports doctoral research in these fields.
• Focus: You work on the economy of construction, the cost and financial side of building projects.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.

How to apply

To apply for a scholarship for a Master’s thesis, please complete the Foundation’s application form and attach a brief description of your thesis and a CV. Please email the documents to the Foundation. Applications for Master’s thesis grants can be submitted four times a year: in March, May, September and December. The current application period runs from 15 to 30 September 2026. Scholarships for PhD students are advertised once a year, usually in April, and are processed via the Foundation’s online scholarship system.
