About this scholarship

Central Ostrobothnia Regional Fund grant

You receive a grant to support scientific or artistic work, or a cultural project, linked to the Central Ostrobothnia region in Finland. There are two types. A working grant covers your living costs while you work full- or part-time for a set period. An expenditure grant covers project costs, materials or equipment. The working grant amount depends on your career stage (early-career, mid-career or experienced). Expenditure grants vary by project. The money comes from the Central Ostrobothnia Regional Fund, one of the 17 regional funds of the Finnish Cultural Foundation (Suomen Kulttuurirahasto, SKR).

Who can apply

  • Who you are: You can apply as an individual, a working group or an organisation. Registered groups may also apply.
  • Field: All fields of science and the arts are eligible.
  • Nationality and residence: You are a Finnish citizen or live or work in Finland. You may also apply from abroad if your work has a clear and close connection to Finland or Finnish culture.
  • Regional link: Priority goes to applicants born in the Central Ostrobothnia region and to work carried out in or focused on the region. The area covers 21 municipalities, including Kokkola, Kannus, Kaustinen and Veteli.

How to apply

You can apply online via the SKR funding portal during the application period from 15 to 30 October. Applications will be assessed by panels of experts. You will be notified of the decision by email in the second week of February.
