About this grant / loan

What you get

You can borrow 1,000 EUR, 2,000 EUR or 3,000 EUR interest-free to fund your studies. You decide on the amount yourself. The term of the loan is 6 years from the first disbursement, and it is paid out in two instalments: one in November or December of the year of approval and one in January of the following year. You will repay it at the end of the 6 years in two equal instalments, so no payments are due until then. The money comes from Euran Opintorahastoyhdistys ry (Eura Study Fund Association), a charitable organisation that supports young people from the Eura region in Finland.

Who can apply

  • Level of study: You study at a vocational school, a university of applied sciences, or a university. Pupils at comprehensive or upper secondary school cannot apply.
  • Where you are from: You completed your school-leaving qualifications at a school in Eura or in the former municipality of Lappi.
  • Field of study: Any subject.
  • Grades and money: The association will assess your academic results and your financial situation. Anyone who meets these criteria will be granted the loan.
  • Guarantee: You will need a personal guarantee from your parents or from two other people who are willing to act as guarantors for the loan.

How to apply

Please complete the club’s registration form (PDF) and enclose your current certificate of enrolment, stamped by your school, your most recent leaving certificate and your academic transcript. Please sign the form by hand, even if you are submitting it by email. The deadline is 14 September. You can submit the form by email or post, or hand it in at the Alasatakunta office. You will be notified of the decision in October.
