About this scholarship

Benefit

You will receive a one-off grant to carry out gynaecological and obstetric research at University of Oulu in Finland. The grant is paid as a one-off lump sum. No specific amount is mentioned in the sources. The money comes from the Gynaecological Research Fund, one of the 25 donor funds administered by the University of OuluScholarship Foundation (Oulun yliopiston tukisäätiö), which was established in 1960 to promote research at the university. Across all its funds, the foundation awards between 150,000 and 250,000 euros annually, mainly for doctoral studies.

Eligibility

  • Field of study: Your research is in gynecology and obstetrics, meaning women's reproductive health, pregnancy and childbirth.
  • Where you study: You are a researcher at the University of Oulu.
  • Level: You are working on your PhD, as the funding is primarily intended for PhD research.
  • Supervision: You have a work supervisor who writes a statement supporting your application.
  • Employment: You are not employed by the university during the funding period.
  • Nationality: All nationalities can apply.

How to apply

Applications are accepted once a year, usually in April, via the Foundation’s online funding system. You complete the form and request a reference from your supervisor via the same system. Your faculty assesses and ranks the applications, and the Foundation’s Executive Board decides who will receive funding.
