About this award / prize

Prix Choay

You will receive a one-off cash prize of 1,500 EUR for research already completed in the fields of medical devices, nutrition and micronutrients, particularly for work that benefits women’s health. This is a one-off award and not a monthly scholarship. The prize is funded by Laboratoire CCD and is awarded once a year by the French Académie nationale de Pharmacie (National Academy of Pharmacy), which honours researchers and healthcare professionals for original scientific work. The laureates receive the award at the Academy’s annual awards ceremony in Paris.

Who can apply

  • Your work: You are submitting a completed piece of research (a dissertation or other academic paper) on the topics of medical devices, nutrition or micronutrients, which ideally relates to women’s health.
  • Where it was done: You carried out the research in France.
  • How recent: You defended or completed your thesis less than three years before submitting your application.
  • Background: Pharmacists will be given preference, but this is not a mandatory requirement.
  • Language: Your work is written in French or English.
  • Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
  • Limits: Members of the Académie nationale de Pharmacie are ineligible to enter. Entries may be submitted for only one of the Academy’s prizes per year, and the same work may be submitted no more than twice.

How to apply

Please email your application to the Academy’s secretariat by 4 September (midnight). A panel of Academy members will review the applications and select the winner.

How realistic are your chances?

The pool of eligible candidates is very limited. Their research must have been carried out in France, completed within the last three years, and fall within the specific fields of medical devices, nutrition or women’s health – so the pool of candidates is small. If your work is closely linked to these topics and you are a pharmacist, your chances are good. As only one winner is selected each year, a compelling submission that is relevant to the theme will stand out in particular.
