SFEDP/Pfizer Research Award

You will receive 30,000 EUR to fund a research project in the field of paediatric endocrinology for 1 years. The funding is provided by the French Society for Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetology (SFEDP), the national association of doctors and researchers in this field, with financial support from Pfizer. Your project may involve clinical or basic research in the fields of endocrinology, diabetology, growth, obesity or paediatric gynaecology. The award winners will present a brief summary of their project at the SFEDP’s annual congress.

Who can apply

• Field of study: Your project must focus on research in the fields of paediatric endocrinology, diabetology, growth, obesity or paediatric gynaecology.
• Career stage: You are a doctor, researcher or pharmacist and have completed your basic training.
• Project rules: Your research must not benefit the pharmaceutical industry, either directly or indirectly, and must not be of a commercial nature.
• Backing: You have a letter of recommendation from an SFEDP member and a letter from the head of your laboratory or institution.
• Nationality: All nationalities can apply.

Please apply by email, sending your complete application documents as a single PDF file. The deadline for applications is 30 March 2026 at 23:59. Your file must contain a covering letter, a CV, the completed application form, the two letters of recommendation and proof of your financial circumstances. Applications in paper form will not be accepted.

How realistic are your chances?

This award is narrowly defined: it covers only research in the field of paediatric endocrinology and related areas, and only one project is selected each year. The pool of eligible applicants is small, but competition is fierce due to the single available place. If your project clearly falls within the scope of the award and you already have the support of an SFEDP member and a host laboratory, your chances are good. The most important factor is a convincing, well-documented research plan.
