Erasmus Supplementary Allowance from the Landes department

You will receive between 104 and 312 EUR per month to fund an Erasmus+ study period abroad. The exact amount depends on your family income per person (the French ‘quotient familial’). This is a grant from the Conseil départemental des Landes, the local authority for the Landes department (number 40, in south-western France). You can receive this grant in addition to your EU Erasmus+ grant, your French government grant, a grant from the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region and the department’s interest-free student loan.

Who can apply

• Where you study: You are enrolled at a higher education institution and have been selected for an Erasmus+ study period abroad.
• Local link: Your family had been living in the Landes department (40) for at least 12 months before submitting the application.
• Financial need: Your family income is low enough to make you eligible; the amount of the benefit depends on this income.
• Field of study: Open to all subjects.
• Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply, provided they meet the residence requirements.

How realistic are your chances?

This award targets a narrow group: your family must have lived in the Landes for at least a year, you must be picked for an Erasmus+ placement, and you must show financial need. That keeps the eligible group small, so few people compete for it. If you meet these conditions and can document your income, your prospects are good.
