What you get

You get an interest-free loan (0% interest) of 600 to 2,700 EUR, paid in one go. You can take up to three of these loans during your studies. You start paying it back in five instalments, beginning two years after you finish your studies. The loan comes from the Department of Vendée in western France, which offers it to students from low-income families to help cover the cost of higher education.

Who can apply

• Level of study: You are in higher education at level 5 or above, meaning a course that comes after the French Baccalauréat (post-BAC). Full-time vocational trainees on a course of at least 6 months also qualify.
• Where you live: Your parents live in the Vendée department. If you are a vocational trainee, you yourself must live in the Vendée.
• Field of study: Open to all subjects.
• Nationality: All nationalities can apply.
• Financial need: Your family's income divided by the number of dependants in the household must not be above 12,000 EUR per year, based on your parents' latest tax assessment.

How to apply

You apply online on the platform subventions.vendee.fr. For the 2026/2027 cycle, you can apply from 15 September 2026 until 30 April 2027 at the latest.

How realistic are your chances?

This is a narrow, local award. Your parents must live in the Vendée and your family income must stay under the threshold, so the eligible group is small. In 2025/2026 only 12 students received it, sharing 29,960 EUR, so the pot is limited. If you clearly meet the residence and income conditions and apply within the window, your prospects are good.
