"Jeunes Talents Côte-d'Or" prize

You will receive a grant of up to 10,000 EUR to fund the implementation of an art project in the year following the award ceremony. The Côte-d’Or Departmental Council in eastern France determines the exact amount for each winner. This depends on the scope of your project and the available budget. Smaller additional prizes may also be awarded to other prize-winners. In 2025, for example, two winning teams each received 5,000 EUR. The prize supports young contemporary artists working in the Côte-d’Or and helps them to connect with established art and cultural networks.

Who can apply

• Who you are: You are a professional contemporary artist. Acceptable evidence includes your artistic CV, your educational background and qualifications, membership of a recognised social security or copyright organisation for artists, or a public exhibition of your works in a gallery, exhibition venue or at a festival.
• Age: You are on 35 of 31 December of the year in which you are submitting your application.
• Where you work: You have been regularly engaged in creative work in the Côte-d’Or for some time now, for example through a studio or an artist-in-residence programme in the area, through exhibitions of your work, or through collaboration with local cultural institutions.
• Field: You work in the fields of fine art or applied art, craft, the performing arts (music, dance, theatre, circus) or video, digital and multimedia art. Projects in the field of digital art will be given special consideration. Film and literature are not eligible.
• First time: You have never won this prize before.
• Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply; the key requirement is that you work in the Côte-d'Or.
• Team projects: In the case of a group project, either the clearly designated lead (director, choreographer or artistic director) meets all the criteria, or each individual member does.

How to apply

Please email your full application to the Faculty Council by Wednesday 30 September 2026 at 12:00. A panel comprising figures from the cultural sector, representatives of the local business community and elected members will review the applications in October or November. The winners will be announced a few weeks later.

How realistic are your chances?

The eligibility criteria for this prize are narrowly defined: you must be a professional artist as defined by 35 who is working creatively in a French département, with the exception of film and literature. This keeps the pool of applicants small, meaning that a suitable artist stands a good chance of winning. Each year, only one main prize winner and one or two winners of smaller prizes are selected, so a clear, well-documented project proposal is crucial.
