IB Diploma Scholarships at the American University of Paris

You will receive a discount on your tuition fees, the amount of which depends on your final International Baccalaureate (IB) mark. The IB is a two-year school-leaving qualification assessed on a scale of 45. This funding applies for the entire duration of your Bachelor’s degree at the American University of Paris (AUP), an English-speaking liberal arts university in France. The higher your overall IB score, the more you will receive:

• 44 or 45 points: Tuition fees are covered in full (100%).
• 40 to 43 points: 20,000 euros per year (roughly 55% of the tuition fees).
• 36 to 39 points: 14,000 euros per year (roughly 40% of the tuition fees).
• 32 to 35 points: 7,000 euros per year.

In addition to the money, if you achieve an IB score of 30 or higher, you will receive 32 semester credits, which are equivalent to a full academic year. This will enable you to complete your degree more quickly and at a lower cost.

Eligibility

• Your qualification: You have completed the IB Diploma and achieved at least 32 points.
• Where you study: You enrol at the AUP as a full-time student on a standard degree programme, in both the autumn and spring semesters.
• Field of study: All subjects.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
• Staying funded: To retain the scholarship each year, you must achieve a grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0 and remain enrolled as a full-time student.
• Not eligible: Visiting students, PhD students and participants in the ‘First Year Abroad’ programme are not eligible for this award.

How to apply

No separate application is required. Once you have been admitted, you will automatically receive the scholarship as soon as your official IB results have been received by the Admissions Office. Please submit these results before the first day of lessons in your first semester. Results submitted late or at a later date cannot be taken into account.

How realistic are your chances?

There is no set number of places. Every admitted student who meets the required score thresholds will automatically receive the relevant funding. Your chances therefore depend on two factors that you can influence yourself: admission to the AUP and achieving at least 32 IB points. Just make sure your official results arrive before the first day, as the funding cannot be granted after that.
