About this scholarship

Atouts Pass Monde (Region Normandie)

You get a grant towards a study placement, course or volunteering abroad. It is built from three parts: a flat travel amount of 200 EUR for a stay in Europe or 400 EUR for any other destination, plus 40 EUR per week abroad, plus a 100 EUR bonus if you travel by bus or train. For example, four weeks in Europe come to 360 EUR, or 460 EUR if you go by bus or train. The Region of Normandy in France pays the money in one go.

There are three versions. The higher-education grant covers stays of 4 to 26 weeks (2 weeks for some programmes such as BTS). The secondary-school grant covers 2 to 12 weeks, once during your school years. The volunteering grant covers 2 to 26 weeks for a European Voluntary Service, international civic service or international solidarity placement.

Who can apply

  • Where you live: You pay your taxes in Normandy.
  • What you do: You are a high-school student, higher-education student, apprentice or vocational trainee going abroad as part of your training, or a young person on a recognised volunteering placement.
  • Level: For the higher-education grant you study at level 5 (Bac+1) to level 7 (Bac+5) and aim for a state-recognised or RNCP-registered qualification; medical students qualify up to the sixth year before specialisation. For the secondary grant you study at level 3 (CAP, BEP) to level 4 (Baccalauréat) at a school in Normandy.
  • Where you study: You are enrolled in France at a public body, a state-contracted private school, an apprentice training centre (CFA), a health or social training institute, or a training provider funded by the Region.
  • Age: You are no older than 30 when you apply. There is no age limit if you are in Region-funded vocational training or have a disability.
  • Family income: Your family quotient (a household income measure) is no more than 30,000 EUR.
  • Timing: You apply before you leave. Applications after departure are not accepted.
  • Destination: You can go to almost anywhere abroad, but Monaco and the French overseas territories (FOM) do not count.
