SFH Mobility Grant

You will receive up to 2,000 EUR per month for a research or training placement abroad, which may last for a maximum of 12 months. The exact amount depends on the duration of your stay and on whether you receive any further funding; it may therefore be lower. The funding is provided by the Société Française d’Hématologie (SFH), the French Society for Haematology, the branch of medicine that deals with blood and blood disorders. It supports the mobility period of a doctor or pharmacist.

Who can apply

• Qualification: You are a doctor or a pharmacist (you hold a degree in medicine or pharmacy).
• Field: You work in a clinical or biological haematology department.
• Career plan: You undertake to return to a French department of clinical or biological haematology following your stay, in order to pursue a career in the university hospital sector.
• Type of stay: You are starting a new period of study abroad. You cannot use the scholarship to extend or continue a period of study that has already begun.
• Host quality: A strong host department or a strong host laboratory will have a positive impact on your application.
• Nationality: All nationalities can apply.

How to apply

Please submit your application to the SFH by email. The application deadline for the 2026 round is midnight on 24 May. Your application documents must include your CV with a list of publications, details of the financial arrangements for your stay, a work plan of no more than three pages, and letters from both your host department and the institution to which you will be returning. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.

How realistic are your chances?

This scholarship is very narrowly defined. You must already be a qualified doctor or pharmacist, be working in the field of haematology in France, and be committed to pursuing a career at a university hospital there. This leaves only a small, specialised group of applicants. If you clearly meet these requirements, have a strong host to support you and include the necessary letters of recommendation, your chances are good.
