About this scholarship

Benefit

You will receive a scholarship of around 2,300 EUR for one academic year (12 months) to cover the tuition fees for a one-year Master’s programme at the Collège d’Europe. The exact amount will be specified individually in your award letter and cannot be extended. The funding comes from the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs (MEAE) and is administered by Campus France. The College of Europe offers programmes in European Studies at three locations: Bruges (Belgium), Natolin near Warsaw (Poland) and Tirana (Albania). You are responsible for your own travel costs to and from the relevant campus.

Eligibility

  • Admission: You have been admitted to (or shortlisted for) a one-year Master’s programme at the College of Europe.
  • Field of study: European studies, such as the European economy, European law, European politics and governance, international relations and EU diplomacy, or transatlantic relations.
  • Nationality: Primarily for French nationals; in some cases, citizens of other EU countries may also apply.
  • Selection basis: Selection is based on merit, following an assessment of your application and an interview. There is no means test.

How to apply

First, you should apply directly to the College of Europe using its online form. The application deadline for 2026-2027 is 14 January. If you are shortlisted, you will be invited to an interview at the Campus France office in Paris in late March or early April. Only applicants who pass this interview will then be able to submit their scholarship application to the MEAE.

How realistic are your chances?

This funding is strictly limited. You must be a French national (or, in some cases, from another EU country), have been admitted to the College of Europe, and pass an interview in Paris. The Ministry funds only a few places each year, so the interview is crucial. If you secure a place at the College and perform well in the interview, your prospects are good, as the pool of eligible applicants is already small.
