Corsica international mobility grant (Mesure 6)

You will receive up to 400 EUR per month for a stay abroad lasting from 2 to 6 months, as well as a one-off travel allowance, which will be paid out before your departure. The monthly amount depends on your family’s taxable income: 400 EUR if the reference income per household member is 25,000 EUR or less, 200 EUR up to 35,000 EUR, and 150 EUR above that. The travel allowance is 400 EUR for destinations in Europe, Africa or Asia, and 800 EUR for the Americas or Oceania. You can receive funding for up to a total of 48 weeks throughout your studies. The funding is provided by the Collectivité de Corse, the regional authority of Corsica. You can use it for a work placement abroad or for a period of study abroad lasting up to one semester.

Who can apply

• Where you study: You are enrolled on a first-cycle degree programme – from ‘Post-Bac’ to a Master’s degree – at a state-recognised higher education institution in Corsica. Students at the Università di Corsica cannot apply here, as it runs its own separate programme.
• Field of study: You are studying a degree course in the field of health or social care.
• Residence: You have paid tax in Corsica over the last 3 calendar years.
• Age: You are under 28 on 31 December of the current year.
• Where you go: Any country abroad, with the exception of France (including its overseas territories), Andorra and Monaco. If you are an international student, you are not permitted to travel to your home country.
• Unpaid or low-paid placement: Your work placement must not be paid 500 EUR per month or more.
• No double funding: You will not receive either an Erasmus+ grant or any other funding from the Collectivité de Corse for the same trip.
• Progress: You have repeated one academic year at most.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted by post. Please send the ‘Mesure 6’ form, together with your supporting documents, to the President of the Executive Council of Corsica. Please post your application at least 3 months before your departure. The date of the postmark will be taken as the date of submission. The grant is not awarded automatically and depends on the funds still available; therefore, it is advisable to apply early.

How realistic are your chances?

This grant scheme is very narrowly defined. You must live in Corsica, be studying healthcare or social work at specific institutions, be under the age of 28, and be going abroad. As a result, the pool of eligible applicants is small, meaning that only a few candidates are competing for this grant. If you clearly meet these conditions and submit your complete application documents well in advance, your chances are good.
