About this scholarship

Foundation ESME Sudria scholarship

You will receive a scholarship which, depending on your financial circumstances, covers between a quarter and half of your ESME tuition fees for one academic year. On average, this amounts to about 4,335 EUR per year, i.e. approximately 2,560 EUR to 6,145 EUR, depending on the year of study and the amount awarded. The scholarship is awarded for one year at a time. It is not automatically renewed, but you can reapply for the following year. The scholarship is administered by the Fondation ESME Alumni. This was founded in 2011 under the umbrella of the Fondation de France to enable students to enrol on the ESME engineering programme.

Who can apply

  • School: You are currently studying, or would like to study, at ESME, a French engineering school (main campus in Ivry-sur-Seine, Paris). You can apply even before you enrol.
  • Study year: You are in the 1, 2, 3 or 4 year of the ESME engineering degree programme.
  • School-leaving diploma: You have passed the Baccalauréat (the French A-level equivalent) or an equivalent examination.
  • Financial need: You can provide evidence, in the form of proof of income, that you and your parents are unable to cover the full cost of tuition fees.
  • Grades: You have achieved very good school grades over the last three years.
  • Nationality, gender and age: Open to everyone, with no restrictions of any kind.

How to apply

The application period begins in early May. You must submit your application to the foundation by 5 October (for the 2026/2027 round, the date of the postmark applies). The school will first shortlist applicants based on income and then rank them according to academic performance. The selection committee may invite you to a short interview, during which you can explain your case.

How realistic are your chances?

This scholarship is strictly limited. Only ESME students who can demonstrate genuine financial need and good academic results are eligible to apply, so the number of successful applicants is small. If you clearly meet these criteria and apply early, your chances are good. Each year, the foundation awards a limited number of scholarships and rewards well-substantiated applications.
