About this scholarship

E2S Doctoral School Research Allowance

You will receive a research grant to support your doctoral research at the University of Pau (Université de Pau et des Pays de l’Adour) in south-west France. The grant will run for a period of up to 36 months, which corresponds to the usual duration of a PhD programme. It is provided by E2S UPPA, a research consortium focusing on energy and environmental solutions, which brings together the university with the national research organisations CNRS, INRAe and Inria.

Who can apply

  • Level: You are enrolled as a PhD student at the University of Pau.
  • Doctoral school: You belong to one of the university’s two doctoral schools: ED 211 (Exact Sciences and their Applications) or ED 481 (Social Sciences and Humanities).
  • Year of study: You are in the first, second or third year of your PhD programme.
  • Existing funding: Your PhD is already funded. This allowance is intended to supplement that funding and is not your main salary.
  • Nationality: All nationalities can apply.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted via the University of Pau’s PhD system. The deadline for applications is 22 May.

How realistic are your chances?

This funding is open exclusively to PhD students who are already enrolled at a specific university and receive funding there, meaning that the pool of eligible applicants is small from the outset. If you are a member of one of the two graduate schools and are in the first three years of your doctoral studies, you clearly fit the profile and can expect little competition. Please apply by the deadline, as this is a fixed annual call for applications.
