About this scholarship

Mobi-Centre grant of the Centre-Val de Loire Region

You will receive a one-off travel allowance of 250 EUR as well as a monthly payment of up to 250 EUR for a study period or work placement abroad, for a maximum of 12 months. This funding is provided by the Centre-Val de Loire Regional Council in France to enable students at its higher education institutions to complete part of their studies abroad. The amount of the monthly payment depends on any other travel allowances you receive. If you receive the government’s AMI grant for scholarship holders, the monthly payment will be reduced to 150 EUR. If you are eligible for Erasmus+ or the Ministry of Agriculture grant, you will only receive the travel allowance of 250 EUR and no monthly payment. You can spread your 12 months across several stays throughout your degree programme.

Who can apply

  • Where you study: You are enrolled at a public, private or consular higher education institution in the Centre-Val de Loire region on a course leading to a state-recognised qualification at a level above the Baccalauréat (French A-levels).
  • Type of course: This refers to your standard first-degree programmes. Dual study programmes (Alternance) and further education courses are not included.
  • Where you go: Your study or work placement abroad is a compulsory part of your degree programme and is governed by a study or work placement agreement with your university. The period abroad lasts for at least 4 weeks and no more than 12 months. Optional years or sabbaticals (“Caesura”) are not counted towards this period.
  • Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply. Non-French students must be based in the region and be going to a country other than their home country.
  • Other income: Your total monthly income, including any internship remuneration, must not exceed 800 EUR.
  • Registration: You are registered on the regional Yep's platform (yeps.fr).

How to apply

As your university administers the scholarship, you should contact them at least two months before your departure. If your university does not have an agreement with the region, you should apply directly to the region – also at least two months in advance. There is no fixed deadline, and you must reapply for each stay.

How realistic are your chances?

This scholarship is aimed at a specific group: you must be studying at a higher education institution in the Centre-Val de Loire region and undertaking a period of study abroad as part of your degree. It supplements existing funding but does not replace it. If you meet these criteria, contact your university well in advance and ensure that your total funding remains below 800 EUR per month – then you stand a good chance of being successful.
