About this scholarship
"André et Anna Llerena" scholarship
You get about 700 EUR per year, renewable for up to 3 years if you keep meeting the conditions. You also get a mentor: a reference teacher from the Faculty of Economics and Management (FSEG) who guides you through your studies. You take part in personal meetings with the donors too, such as a yearly dinner with all past scholarship holders. The scholarship is funded by the Llerena family through their driving and transport-training company ECF Llerena, in memory of their parents.
Who can apply
- Where you study: You are starting your first year (first semester) at the University of Strasbourg in France, in a Bachelor (Licence), a BUT technology diploma, or an engineering or management school.
- Field of study: Students of the Faculty of Economics and Management (FSEG) are preferred, and at least one scholarship goes to an FSEG student every year. Other fields can still apply.
- School results: You passed your Baccalauréat (French school-leaving exam) with the grade "Bien" or "Très bien" (a very good result).
- Financial need: You qualify for a CROUS state grant, your family's yearly taxable income is under 45,000 EUR, and your family has paid tax in France for at least 2 years.
- Nationality: Open to all nationalities.
- Other work and grants: You cannot do regular paid work while funded (occasional work is fine), and you cannot combine this with other scholarships apart from a CROUS grant.
- Not eligible: You are already in a professional Bachelor, a Master or a doctorate.
How to apply
You apply through the online form of the University of Strasbourg foundation. Show both your financial situation and your study plan. The deadline is 20 September, and the decision comes in mid-November. A commission first reviews your file, then invites you to a personal interview.
How realistic are your chances?
This award is narrow: you must be a first-year student at Strasbourg, meet strict income limits, and hold a strong Baccalauréat. That keeps the eligible group small. If you study economics or management at the FSEG, your prospects are especially good, since at least one place is reserved for that faculty each year. The commission values a clear, personal motivation letter, so a strong case matters more than a polished one.
