About this scholarship

Region of Burgundy traineeship grant (Dynastage)

For a compulsory work placement abroad that forms part of your degree programme, you will receive a one-off grant of 150 to 2,280 EUR. The exact amount depends on the duration of your stay, your family income and whether you are also receiving an Erasmus+ grant. The placement can last between 2 weeks and 6 months. You can undertake a placement in a company anywhere in the world, except in France. Students with a disability will receive a supplement of 150 EUR upon provision of proof. The grant is paid by the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté Regional Council. You can combine it with an Erasmus+ grant, a university grant, a social grant or a CROUS grant.

Who can apply

  • Where you study: You are enrolled as a full-time student at a higher education institution in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of France.
  • Study year: You are in your 1 to 5 academic year and are undertaking your initial training (not further training).
  • The placement: Your degree programme includes an internship, and your university has approved it.
  • Where you go: The work placement is with a company outside France and is more than 150 km away from both your family home and your place of study. If you are an international student, you will need to leave the country where your family lives.
  • Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply. You do not need to be a French national; you simply need to be enrolled at a regional university.
  • Financial need: Your family income index (taxable income divided by the number of household members) must be less than 25,830 EUR.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted online via the region’s application system. You will need an access code, which you can request from the international mobility officer at your university (the person responsible for study and work placements abroad). The application period runs each year from 2 January to 25 October. You must apply within 30 days of the start of your work placement.

How realistic are your chances?

This grant is strictly limited. You must be studying at one of the selected institutions in a specific region of France, undertake a compulsory work placement abroad and meet the income threshold. This keeps the pool of applicants small; so if you clearly meet these conditions, your chances are good. Please apply within 30 days of the start of your work placement, as late applications will result in disqualification.
