About this scholarship

Polish government study and research scholarships

During your studies or research stay in Poland, you will receive a monthly allowance of about 320 EUR (1,350 PLN) towards accommodation and meals. The funding is valid for a period of 1 to 9 months. It may be extended provided that monthly places are still available and both parties agree. The funds are provided by the Polish Government and coordinated by the Polish Embassy in Paris. This funding can be used to finance part of a degree programme, a full degree programme, a PhD, a research stay, a study visit, the purchase of materials for academic work, or teaching at a host institution in Poland. Your return flight is not covered.

Who can apply

  • Nationality: You are French or live in France. Polish nationals living in France are not eligible to apply.
  • Level of study: At the time of your application, you must be enrolled on at least a Bachelor’s degree programme or an equivalent course. You must have obtained this qualification by the time you leave for Poland.
  • Field of study: Any subject taught at Polish universities.
  • Age: You are 35 or younger.
  • Polish language: Knowledge of Polish is an advantage, but not a requirement.
  • One application only: You cannot apply for both a language scholarship and a study or research scholarship in the same year.
  • Health cover: You hold a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC).
  • Not through Erasmus: If you are going to Poland as part of the Erasmus programme, you are not eligible for this grant.

How to apply

Please send your complete application documents to the Polish Embassy in Paris by 15 March. A joint Franco-Polish selection panel will shortlist the applicants. It will then forward the selected applications to Warsaw for final approval. The results are usually announced in September.

How realistic are your chances?

This scholarship is aimed at a specific group: you must be a French national or resident in France, be under the age of 35, and already hold a bachelor’s degree. This limits the number of applicants. If you clearly meet these criteria and can provide compelling reasons for studying in Poland, your chances are good. It is advisable to apply early, before the deadline in March, as final approval depends on how many monthly places are still available in Poland.
