KSP Student Excellence Scholarship

You will receive up to 10,000 EUR per year for a two-year Master’s programme, i.e. up to a total of 20,000 euros. The money will be used to cover your tuition fees at Sciences Po in Paris. You will only retain the scholarship for the second year if your results in the first year place you in the top half of your year group. Every year, Sciences Po awards several of these scholarships in collaboration with a Kuwaiti academic foundation. Both organisations support students who specialise in the Arab world and the Gulf region.

Who can apply

• Degree level: You are starting a two-year Master’s degree programme at Sciences Po. One-year programmes and dual-degree programmes are not included.
• Where you study: You are studying at Sciences Po in Paris. You must first be admitted via the university’s standard admissions portal.
• Field: Your degree programme focuses on the Arab world and the Gulf region within the context of the social sciences and humanities, such as political science, law, economics, history or sociology.
• Nationality: Open to all nationalities.
• First time in France: This must be your first degree in France.
• Grades: You have a strong academic record. Selection weighs your results and your study plan.

How to apply

First, apply via the Sciences Po admissions portal. You should then email your scholarship application documents to the programme secretariat: a CV, a cover letter in English of 1,000 words, a copy of your passport and a signed declaration of consent. There are two application deadlines. The earlier deadline is 6 December, with results announced by the end of February. The general deadline is 14 February, with results announced by May. A joint committee reviews the eligible applications.

How realistic are your chances?

Places are limited. You will need to have been admitted to Sciences Po, be enrolled on a two-year Master’s programme, and have a specialisation in the Arab world and the Gulf region. This smaller number of applicants works in your favour if you clearly meet these requirements and have very good grades. If you apply by the deadline in early December, you’ll have the best chance, as your application will then be at the top of the list.
