Parsons Paris School of Art and Design - PCA Scholarships

You will receive a discount on your tuition fees at Paris College of Art, a private art and design college in Paris. The packages cover 30 to 50 per cent of the tuition fees and are worth up to approximately 26,200 EUR in total. According to the university, the average discount is 36 per cent for Bachelor’s students and 39 per cent for Master’s students. Tuition fees are high at 16,320 EUR per semester for on-campus Bachelor’s programmes. Even with the most comprehensive package, you will still have to cover part of your tuition fees and your full living costs yourself.

You will receive the scholarship for your first year of study. It will be renewed each year for the remainder of your degree programme, provided you maintain a grade point average of at least 2.5, are studying full-time and can continue to demonstrate financial need. The PCA also offers two further options. As part of the College Assistance Programme (CAP), you can work on campus and, in return, receive a reduction in your tuition fees for the following semester. Second-year MFA students can also take up paid teaching placements.

Eligibility

• Where you study: You have been admitted to a degree programme, a certificate programme or a study abroad programme at the Paris College of Art in Paris.
• Field of study: All art and design subjects at the PCA, ranging from communication and fashion design to fine art, film, photography and interior design.
• Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply. There is one exception: PhD students from the EU, the EEA, Switzerland or the United Kingdom are already automatically entitled to a 50 per cent reduction in tuition fees, so they cannot apply for this reduction separately.
• Study mode: You are studying full-time on a face-to-face programme. Students on the online foundation year are not eligible to apply.
• Financial need: You cannot cover the full cost of your studies out of your own pocket.
• Merit: You stand out for your outstanding academic and artistic achievements, as well as your clear commitment to your PCA studies.

How to apply

First, apply for admission to the PCA. Once you have submitted this application, the financial support form will be made available to you. Submit your application by the deadline for your degree programme, either by 1 February or by 1 October. A fixed amount of funding is available each year, which is allocated on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. You should therefore apply for financial support as early as possible. Although later applications will still be considered, the available funds may already be limited by that time.

How realistic are your chances?

The funding is tied to a specific school, and only around 30 per cent of PCA students receive it; it is therefore a funded but highly competitive place. If you are admitted, have a demonstrable financial need and can present compelling creative work, your prospects are good. Applying early does in fact increase the amount of funding you can receive.
