PRAME Études scholarship (Région Sud)

You will receive 125 EUR for every full week abroad, up to a maximum of 2,500 EUR per academic year, for one or two semesters of study outside France. A full week comprises 7 consecutive days, including the weekend. You may also apply for a lump sum of 200 EUR towards visa costs, as well as a lump sum of 400 EUR if you have a disability. The grant is provided by the Région Sud – Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, the regional authority for south-eastern France. It is intended to help students from this region to complete part of their studies abroad.

Who can apply

• Where you live: Your tax residence is in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region of France.
• University: You are enrolled at a higher education institution in the region that is a PRAME partner. This includes both standard degree programmes and work-study programmes (Alternance).
• Degree: You are aiming to obtain a French state qualification, a state-recognised qualification, a DUETI (Diploma in International Technical Studies) or a qualification listed in the National Register of Professional Qualifications (RNCP).
• Age: It is 31 December 2025 and you are at 30.
• Financial need: Your family income, divided by the family allowance (quotient familial), amounts to 26,000 EUR or less, based on tax assessment notice 2025 for an income of 2024.
• Where you go: You will study for one or two semesters, each lasting at least 12 weeks, at any location worldwide, with the exception of France, the European Union, Monaco and Andorra. You must not be a national of the country to which you are travelling.
• Field of study: Any topic is allowed.
• No double funding: You are not taking part in the Erasmus programme, you are not receiving any other mobility grant, and you are not simply transferring to a foreign campus of your own university.

How to apply

You must submit your application entirely online via the Région Sud funding platform. First, ask your institution for an authentication code, and then submit your application at least 15 days before your departure. The budget of 2025/2026 has already been fully utilised, and the platform is closed. It is expected to reopen for the academic year 2026/2027.

How realistic are your chances?

This scholarship is strictly limited to a specific region. You must live and study in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, meet the income threshold and be travelling to a country outside the EU, which means that the pool of eligible applicants is limited. The catch lies in the scale of the scheme: The annual budget is quickly exhausted and was already fully allocated for 2025/2026. If you clearly meet the criteria, apply as soon as the platform reopens, as places are allocated on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.
