University of Strathclyde - Accommodation Bursary

What the Accommodation Bursary gave you

You have received a one-off payment of about 1,150 EUR (1,000 GBP) per academic year if you lived in University of Strathclyde accommodation whilst studying in Glasgow, Scotland. The university renewed this payment each year, provided you continued to meet the eligibility criteria. It was funded from Strathclyde University’s own resources and helped students from England, Wales and Northern Ireland to cover tuition fees of up to 9,000 GBP per year.

Who could apply

• Where you came from: They came from England, Wales or Northern Ireland (the ‘Rest of the United Kingdom’ or RUK).
• Year of study: You were in your first year of university or a first-year student.
• Where you lived: You were staying in accommodation provided by the University of Strathclyde.
• Field of study: Every topic was fine.
• Income: No means test. Your family’s income was irrelevant. All you needed was RUK status and a place in student accommodation.
