Merit Award at Webster Vienna

You will receive a one-off payment of approximately 1,250 EUR, with no automatic renewal. The exact amount depends on how many awards are presented this year. The funds come from the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research and are intended to recognise outstanding achievements at Webster Vienna Private University (WVPU).

Who can apply

• Where you study: You are already enrolled on a standard Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programme at Webster Vienna Private University.
• Field of study: All WVPU degree programmes are eligible, for example Business Administration, International Relations, Psychology, Strategic Communication or the MBA.
• Grades: Your grade point average (GPA) is at least 3.3 on the American 4.0 scale.
• Credits done: Bachelor’s students must have earned at least 24 credit points at the WVPU; Master’s students must have earned at least 12 credit points.
• Austria link: You are an Austrian citizen; or an EEA national who has resided in Austria for at least 5 years, during which time you or a parent worked there; or you have lived in Austria for at least 5 years, during which time a parent paid income tax there; or you are a refugee within the meaning of the Geneva Convention.

How to apply

Download the application form and submit it by email once a year in late autumn. The current deadline is 4 December at 13:00 CET. Selection is based on your grades, and not every applicant will receive an award.

How realistic are your chances?

This funding scheme is highly selective. You must already be studying at this particular university, have a grade point average of at least 3.3, and demonstrate a clear connection to Austria. This means that the pool of eligible applicants remains small. If you meet all these criteria, your chances are good, even though not everyone who applies will receive a grant. The key is to apply in good time with good grades.
