About this award / prize

The Brian Dillon Memorial Prize

You receive an award worth up to 250 EUR each year. It has three parts: a printed scroll describing the award and the man it honours, an engraved medal, and a cash prize. The cash prize is whatever is left of the 250 EUR after the scroll and medal are paid for. The exact value can vary slightly from year to year, because the money comes from invested funds. University College Cork (UCC) gives the prize through its School of Law. It is funded by a donation from Mr Paul Dillon of Australia in memory of his ancestor Brian Dillon, a 19th-century Cork activist.

  • University: You are currently a Bachelor’s student at University College Cork.
  • Subject: You take Criminal Law.

  • First attempt: You can achieve this mark on your first attempt at the exam, but not on a resit.
  • Nationality: Open to students of all nationalities.

How to apply
