About this scholarship
What you get
You get a personal package of sports and study support at Technological University Dublin (TU Dublin) in Ireland. The mix is set for each athlete and can include a fee waiver (part or all of your tuition covered), help with accommodation costs, and a direct cash award set case by case. You also get access to high-performance training facilities and a support team: strength and conditioning, sports nutrition, sports psychology, physiotherapy, academic mentoring (one-to-one coaching for your studies), performance workshops and career guidance. If you apply for an undergraduate course, you may be offered entry with CAO points reduced by up to 10 percent. CAO points are the score Irish school-leaving results are turned into for university entry. The award is reviewed each year and renewed if you keep up both your studies and your sport. It is run by TU Dublin Sport.
Who can apply
- Study place: You are offered a place on a TU Dublin undergraduate or postgraduate course, or you already study there.
- Field of study: Any subject.
- Sporting level: You compete at regional, county, national or international level.
- Sport: Your sport is recognised by Sport Ireland.
- Commitment: You will represent TU Dublin in your sport's competitions.
How to apply
You do two things. First, apply for a TU Dublin course (undergraduate courses go through the CAO, Ireland's central admissions office). Second, fill in the separate online application form for the Athlete Support Programme. For the 2026/27 year the window ran from 1 February to 1 June 2026.
