University of Limerick - J.P. McManus Scholarship Award

J.P. McManus Scholarship Award

You receive 6,750 EUR per year for the full length of your undergraduate degree, usually four years, so up to around 27,000 EUR in total. Eight scholarships go out each year to the eight top-performing students from one Limerick school. JP McManus, a former pupil, set up the award in 1996 to help the school's students pay for third-level education.

Who can apply

• School: You complete the full Leaving Certificate cycle at Coláiste Mhichíl, CBS Sexton Street, Limerick. This is the only school whose students qualify.
• Grades: You are among the eight students with the highest Leaving Certificate results at that school in your year. The Leaving Certificate is the final Irish secondary-school exam.
• Field of study: Any undergraduate course counts.
• Where you study: You study at a third-level institution in Ireland.

How to apply

There is no application. Selection is automatic: the eight students with the best Leaving Certificate results at the school each year receive the award. It is presented at an annual ceremony.
