UCD Choral Scholarship

As a member of the ‘UCD Choral Scholars’, the chamber choir of University College Dublin, you will receive 1,500 EUR per academic year. The scholarship is valid for one academic year, and by taking part you can also earn academic credits. You will sing in a choir with 18 students from across the university. They go on international tours (previous trips have taken them to the Netherlands, Luxembourg, the UK, Hungary, Italy and the USA), record albums for Signum Records and perform on television, on the radio and at concerts. They work with professional conductors and musicians.

Who can apply

• University: You are currently studying at UCD or have accepted an offer of a place at UCD.
• Field of study: Every subject. The choir is made up of students from all departments.
• Level: Students in their undergraduate and postgraduate studies are eligible to apply.
• Singing: You can sing. You do not need choir experience or the ability to read music. Beginners are welcome to apply.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.

How to apply

You apply online and upload a video of yourself singing a song of your choice. A panel of judges will review the videos and invite shortlisted candidates to a face-to-face audition, during which you will also perform a set choral piece. The application period and auditions take place every year in September; the deadline for applications is 13 September.
