About this grant / loan
What you get
For a paid tutoring contract at the University of Macerata in Italy, you will earn 4,000 EUR gross. You will work up to 400 hours at an hourly rate of 10 EUR. You will help international and exchange students settle in: You will welcome them, provide information and carry out administrative tasks in English and Italian. The assignment runs from around 30 June 2026 to 30 June 2027. Under Italian law, the remuneration is exempt from income tax, and the university will take out accident insurance. There are 5 positions, one for each department (Economics and Law, Law, Education and Cultural Heritage, Political Science and International Relations, and Humanities).
Who can apply
- Your university: You are enrolled full time at the University of Macerata for the 2025/2026 academic year and are not behind schedule.
- Your study level: You are in your 1st or 2nd year of a master's programme (LM), in the 4th or 5th year of a single-cycle master's degree, in the 1st or 2nd year of the law-professions specialisation school, or a doctoral (PhD) student.
- Your grades: Master's, specialisation-school and doctoral students need a previous degree of at least 80/110. Single-cycle students need at least 180 CFU credits (Italian course credits) by 30 April 2026 and a grade average of at least 24/30.
- Languages: You must have a recognised certificate of proficiency in Italian at Level A2 and a certificate of proficiency in English at Level B2. This does not apply if you are a native speaker or have completed a degree programme taught in English.
- Age: You are below 35 in terms of the deadline.
- Field of study: Open to all subjects.
- Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are eligible to apply, provided they are enrolled at the University of Macerata.
- Not eligible: You are not eligible to apply if, by 30 April 2026, you only need to complete your final dissertation, already hold an equivalent qualification, are studying part-time, have received a disciplinary sanction, or would be taking part in an international exchange programme whilst in post.
How to apply
Applications must be submitted exclusively online via the student portal at studenti.unimc.it, under ‘Iniziative’, by 18 June 2026 at 23:59. Please state your qualifications on the form. A selection panel will assess applicants on the basis of their academic achievements and additional qualifications (up to 20 points); there will be no interview. In the event of a tie, the younger applicant will be given priority.
How realistic are your chances?
The selection criteria are strictly defined. Only full-time students enrolled on standard Master’s programmes, single-cycle programmes and PhD programmes at this one Italian university are eligible to apply, and there are 5 places available, one per department. This means that the pool of applicants within each department remains small. If you clearly meet the academic and language requirements, have relevant experience or have undertaken voluntary work to earn extra points, and submit your application by the deadline, your chances are good.
