About this award / prize

What you get

For an outstanding final dissertation, you will receive a one-off cash prize of 3,000 EUR. This is a one-off payment and is not a monthly scholarship. The prize is awarded by the Comitato Leonardo, an Italian committee dedicated to promoting ‘Made in Italy’ quality, and is funded by Corneliani S.p.A., a manufacturer of men’s clothing based in Mantua. It recognises final-year dissertations on the success of ‘Made in Italy’ luxury products, covering topics such as marketing, brand communication, digital and social media, and competitive strategies.

Who can apply

  • Level: You are a graduate who submitted your final thesis in the relevant academic year.
  • Field: Your dissertation deals with the fields of business administration, economics, marketing or communication, focusing on the luxury sector and the ‘Made in Italy’ sector.
  • University: Not limited.
  • Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
  • Not a past winner: You have not yet won this award in a previous edition.

How to apply

You should submit your final thesis, a short summary of no more than six pages and an application form to the Comitato Leonardo. The deadline is 31 October. A selection panel will make the final decision on the recommendation of Corneliani S.p.A.

How realistic are your chances?

This prize is awarded on a highly selective basis. It is awarded to a single final-year dissertation on a specified topic within the fields of luxury and marketing, which is assessed by the company funding the prize. As a result, the pool of eligible candidates remains small, meaning that a dissertation which clearly fits the theme of the year and demonstrates thorough research has a genuine chance of winning. Since only one dissertation can win, quality and a precise match with the brief are more important than the number of entries.
