About this grant / loan

What you get

For journeys between the Aosta Valley and your university, you are entitled to a discount of up to 90% on public transport fares. This is not a cash payment. Instead, your travel costs will be reduced. The exact amount of the discount depends on your ISEE band, an official Italian measure of household income, meaning that students on lower incomes pay less. If you are studying at a university in Chambéry or Annecy (France), you can buy SAVDA bus tickets online for 25% of the standard price. The scheme is administered by the Regional Government of the Aosta Valley in Italy.

Who can apply

  • Where you live: You are a resident of the Aosta Valley region in Italy.
  • Where you study: You are studying at a university outside the Aosta Valley, elsewhere in Italy or abroad.
  • Level: You are a student.
  • Field of study: Anyone interested is welcome to apply.
  • Income: You can apply regardless of your income level. The amount of your discount depends on your ISEE income bracket.

How to apply

Registration and applications are made online via the regional student portal at pat.regione.vda.it. There is no fixed deadline, so you can apply at any time.

How realistic are your chances?

This is an entitlement, not a grant awarded on a competitive basis. It depends on where you live and where you study, not on your grades or a limited number of university places. If you live in the region and commute to a university in another town, you should be eligible, and the amount of the discount depends on your income bracket.
