Lazio DiSCo - Transport facilities

What you get

You buy discounted ATAC season tickets for public transport in and around Rome. ATAC runs the metros, buses and trams in the city of Rome and neighbouring municipalities in the province. A season ticket lets you travel on all of them without limit. You choose the length that fits you: monthly, quarterly or annual, and you can renew it as long as you still qualify. This is a perk, not a cash payment. It comes from Lazio DiSCo, the regional agency for the right to study, and it is on top of the DiSCo scholarship you already hold.

Who can apply

• Scholarship: You currently hold a Lazio DiSCo scholarship.
• Age: You are under 26 years old.
• Income: Your ISEE (the Italian means-test score for the right to study) is below 20,000 EUR.
• Where you study: You study in the Lazio region.
• Also covered: Students with a disability, or those getting other DiSCo support, can use the same discount.

How to apply

There is no separate application. DiSCo sends ATAC the names of eligible scholarship holders, so you do not need to prove your scholarship yourself. Then you buy the discounted season ticket online on the ATAC website, at an ATAC sales point or at a ticket office.

How realistic are your chances?

This benefit comes automatically with a DiSCo scholarship, so there is nothing to win separately. The real hurdle is getting the DiSCo scholarship first. Once you hold it and are under 26 with an ISEE below 20,000 EUR, the transport discount is simply available to you.
