About this scholarship

Benefit: what you get

You will receive your full tuition fees waived from the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (UCSC) in Italy. Tuition fees are normally between 3,284 and 11,806 euros per year and can be as high as 18,598 euros for the degree programme in Medicine, so the fee waiver alone is well worth it. You’ll also receive one free meal a day throughout the year. If you achieve a sufficiently high ranking, you will receive a cash grant, the amount of which depends on your income bracket and where you live. For example, students in the highest income bracket who live on campus receive around 2,601 euros. You can also be allocated a room at a reduced rate in an EDUCatt hall of residence, provided you are offered a place. The EDUCatt Foundation runs the programme in partnership with UCSC. It covers the Milan, Brescia, Piacenza-Cremona and Rome campuses and supports numerous students each year: at least 571 places for first-year students, 1,212 for students in higher years, and 10 for PhD students and those on specialisation programmes.

Eligibility: who can apply

  • University: You are enrolled at UCSC for 2026/2027 or are currently applying to study there (all campuses except Bolzano, Campobasso and Potenza).
  • Level: You are enrolled on a Bachelor’s degree programme, a single-cycle Master’s programme, a two-year Master’s programme, a specialisation programme or a PhD programme for which no other funding is provided.
  • Study mode: You are a full-time student. Part-time students and prospective exchange students are not eligible to apply.
  • No higher degree: You do not yet hold a qualification at the same or a higher level.
  • Field of study: Open to all subjects.
  • Nationality: Italian nationals, as well as EU and non-EU citizens, are all eligible to apply. Special rules apply to people granted international protection, subsidiary protection or temporary protection (including those from Ukraine).
  • Grades: By 10 August 2026, you must have achieved a minimum number of credit points (CFU). The exact number depends on your degree programme and year of study.
  • Financial need: Your household income (ISEE) is 26,887.93 EUR or less, and your household assets (ISPE) are 58,452.06 EUR or less.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted online via the MyEDUCatt portal by 30 September 2026, 13:00 (Rome local time). You will receive a provisional result within 48 hours of submitting your application. A final result and the ranking list will follow as soon as EDUCatt has reviewed your documents. You cannot combine this funding with any other scholarship for the same academic year.

How realistic are your chances?

The programme funds nearly 1,800 places each year, so there are numerous scholarships available. Awards are based on set income and credit point thresholds, rather than on a comparison between applicants. If you are studying full-time at UCSC, meet the income thresholds and achieve your target number of credits, your chances are good. Make sure that your ISEE certificate and your academic transcript are submitted in full before the deadline in September.
