University of Perugia - Facilitation of the rate of urban transport

What you get

You are purchasing a 10-trip ticket for public transport in Perugia for 9 EUR, which is cheaper than the standard fare. The ticket is called ‘UP’ and is valid on the city’s public transport network, including the Minimetro. The reduced fare is the result of an agreement between the ‘Circolo Universitario San Martino’ at the University of Perugia and the transport operator Minimetro S.p.A. This is a permanent reduction and not a one-off discount. There is neither a specific period of validity nor a selection process. You can purchase the ticket for as long as you are enrolled at or employed by the university.

Who can use it

• Who: You are enrolled at the University of Perugia or are a member of the university’s staff.
• Field of study: Open to all subjects.
• Nationality: Any nationality is acceptable, provided you are registered or employed there.
• Financial need: Not required. You do not need to provide proof of your income or your grades.
• Proof: Students must present their student ID card or their university record book (Libretto universitario). Staff members must present their staff ID card or their Circolo San Martino membership card.

How to get it

There is no registration process and no registration deadline. You purchase the ticket in person at the MMpoint counter in the Minimetro S.p.A. offices at Pian di Massiano station in Perugia. The counter is open Monday to Thursday from 09:00 to 13:00 and from 15:30-19:00, and on Fridays from 09:00 to 13:00. Please bring your ID so that staff can verify that you are a student or member of staff.

How realistic are your chances?

There’s nothing to be won here: this is a fixed discount, not a prize awarded as part of a competition. If you’re enrolled at the University of Perugia or work there and can show your student or staff ID card, simply buy your ticket at the ticket office and pay the reduced price straight away.
