About this grant / loan

ADISU Puglia study grant (Borsa di Studio)

You will receive an annual grant of up to 7,172 EUR for your studies at a university in Apulia (Puglia), a region in southern Italy. The amount depends on how far you live from your university: around 7,172 EUR if you move away from home, around 4,191 EUR if you commute, and around 2,891 EUR if you live in the same town. Students studying STEM subjects receive an additional 20%, and students with a very low income indicator receive an extra 15%. You can renew the grant every year of your studies, provided you continue to meet the eligibility criteria. In addition to the grant, you can apply for a place in a hall of residence, meals in the canteens, a supplement for stays abroad (for example, Erasmus+) and a graduation award. This is a public grant administered by ADISU Puglia, the regional authority for the right to higher education.

Who can apply

  • University: You are studying at a state university, an art academy, a conservatoire or the ITS Academy in Apulia, for example at the universities of Bari, Foggia or Lecce.
  • Level: Open to students on Bachelor’s, Master’s and single-cycle Master’s degree programmes (including Medicine), PhD students and students at universities of applied sciences.
  • Field of study: Open to all subjects.
  • Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply. If you live outside Italy, specific rules apply regarding proof of your income.
  • Financial need: Your family income indicator (ISEE) is no more than 26,000 EUR and your asset indicator (ISPE) is no more than 56,000 EUR.
  • Progress: There are no prior academic requirements for first-year students; however, they must earn a specified number of credit points during the year in order to retain the full amount of funding. Students in higher semesters must achieve a minimum number of credit points.
  • No double funding: You do not yet hold a qualification at the same level and are not currently receiving any other scholarship.

How to apply

Applications are made online via the ADISU Puglia student portal. You must log in using a recognised Italian digital ID (SPID, CIE or CNS) and provide a current ISEE income statement. Students on Bachelor’s, Master’s and single-cycle degree programmes must apply between 14 July and 13 August 2026. PhD students and students at universities of applied sciences must apply between 1 October and 30 October 2026. They must reapply for each academic year.

How realistic are your chances?

This is a needs-based regional grant, not a competition for a handful of prizes. If you are studying in Apulia and meet the income and asset thresholds, your chances are good. The main hurdles are providing accurate proof of your ISEE and earning the required credits in good time. Just make sure you submit your application within the specified period.
