About this scholarship

Bocconi tuition waivers for Master of Science students

You will receive a reduction on part or all of the tuition fees at Bocconi. The total tuition fees and costs for the MSc programme amount to 18,550 EUR per year. Depending on your family’s financial situation, you will pay 60% less (7,420 EUR), 20% less (14,840 EUR) or, thanks to a 100% exemption, nothing at all. The waiver applies to your first year of study. You can renew it for subsequent years, provided you meet the academic requirements. These means-tested exemptions form part of Bocconi’s ‘Bocconi4Access to Education’ programme, which is funded by the University and private donors to enable students on lower incomes to access master’s programmes.

Who can apply

  • Degree: You are enrolling on the first year of a Master of Science (MSc) programme at Bocconi University in Milan. This means that you have already obtained a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Who counts: You are an Italian applicant or have obtained your bachelor’s degree from Bocconi University. International applicants are not eligible for these means-tested fee waivers.
  • Field of study: Every master’s programme at Bocconi University is suitable for this.
  • Financial need: Bocconi University’s Office for Fees, Funding and Accommodation assesses your family’s income and assets. There is no set income threshold. The extent of your fee waiver depends on how difficult your family’s financial situation is.

How to apply

First, complete your enrolment at Bocconi. Then submit an application via the ‘My Application’ portal with the title ‘Bocconi4Access to Education’. Applications are processed in several rounds. The first round for Italian applicants and applicants from Bocconi University runs from late January to 13 February; the results will be announced by mid-April. Exemptions are granted subject to the availability of funds, with priority given to families in particularly difficult financial circumstances.

How realistic are your chances?

The pool of applicants is smaller than for the open scholarships, as only Italian nationals and former Bocconi students are eligible to apply, and there must be a demonstrable financial need. However, the scholarships are only discontinued once the budget has been exhausted, and they are awarded primarily to the families most in need. Applying in the first round therefore offers you the best chances. If you clearly meet the criteria and can provide evidence of your family’s circumstances, your prospects are good.
